Setting Up a FTP for Microsoft Expression Web
2 (Classroom Website)
**Microsoft
Frontpage will not work to edit your classroom website anymore.**
***Note***
Going to "File" in Internet Explorer
and choosing "Edit with Microsoft Expression Web 2" will NO LONGER WORK to
edit our websites.
Please following the steps below to setup Microsoft Expression Web 2
to edit your web pages.
- Start Microsoft Expression Web (it can be found in your start menu, you may want to put it as a shortcut on your desktop1)
In Expression Web
- Click "File" and choose "Open Site"
- Copy and paste the following ftp address into the "Site Name" field
ftp://gouverneurcentralschool.org/faculty
- Enter your username and password used to logon to the
school computers.
- Click "Open" on the next window.
- Select "Edit Live Web Site Now" and select "Open"
Important
You will be able to see each teachers folder, but not able to
edit them. Once you have setup Expression Web following the
steps above, you will need to navigate the folder list on the
left and find your particular folder. Click the "+" next to it
to view the contents of your folder. Editing the contents of
your folder will happen in the same manner as before. Be careful
when editing (changing and uploading files etc) your web as it
is now surrounded by other teachers folders.
What do I do if I'm not prompted for my
username and password?
- Start Expression Web 2 as you did in step 1 above.
- Click on "File" and choose "Open Site"
- Double click your website from the list and you should
now be prompted for you username and password
